Every wedding is so different - we've done wedding planning that cost the couple $500, and we've planned a wedding where our bill was $3,500. So it really depends on what you need us to do! What does a "Wedding planner" do?
We do as much or as little as you need. Sometimes couples need us to take care of everything because the choices and decisions can be overwhelming - from finding a venue and suppliers (caterers, photographers, celebrants etc) to managing logistics of hireage and musicians and the timeline of the day. Sometimes couples just want us to look over their plan for the day, and then manage everything on the day to ensure it all runs smoothly and stress free. How does the process work? Normally we'll get together for a chat to discuss how we can help you, and what you might need us to do. Then we put together a detailed proposal that outlines our charges, and an estimate of what we think it will cost. We can also create a tailored package for you If you like the look of the proposal we ask for a $500 deposit to secure your date, and then we jump into action and start on the "To Do" list for your big day. We keep a record of the time spent on tasks for your wedding, and provide an invoice a few days before the wedding. This invoice is required to be paid 24 hours before the wedding, and if there are any additional costs we take this out of the deposit. How much do you charge? As above, it really does depend on your wedding, and how much you want us to do. Depending on the task we generally charge between $40 and $70 an hour. However don't fret - we provide a full quote before any work is undertaken, and we can also create a package for you. |
Do you do the wedding design and set up?
Not usually - if you don't have a wedding designer, florist, or hire company in mind we can recommend some great ones, and we work closely with them to ensure every detail is perfect. If you do need us to set up the wedding ceremony or reception then we absolutely can - get in touch and we can chat about what you need. Do you do same-sex weddings? Yes! Even though the name is Goose & Gander, we also do Goose & Goose or Gander & Gander weddings. Love is love, we support it all. Do you do events other than weddings? Yes yes, of course! We love all events - whether they are wedding related (weddings, hens/stag parties, engagement parties, bridal showers, vow renewals) or not. We also do birthday parties, kids parties, Christmas parties, dinner parties, Halloween parties, corporate parties, just-because parties! We can help with anything, just ask! Do you get a 'kickback' or commission for recommending suppliers? No absolutely not - you make payments directly to the providers and not to us. We base our suggestions and recommendations on the supplier that we think are the best fit for you and your wedding. We will work hard to get you the best price possible, and pass all these savings on to you. |
